Club Constitution
TITLE
1.1
The Club shall be called The Beechwood Sea Angling Club, hereafter to be referred to as "the Club." We are not affiliated to any sporting or governing body.
OBJECTS
2.1
The object of the club shall be to encourage the art of sea angling and to promote further social contact among its members.
MEMBERSHIP
3.1
Membership shall be at the discretion and vote of the Committee whose decision shall be final.
3.2
Membership of the Club shall be open to any person completing a membership application form and paying the relevant subscription/joining fee as determined by the Annual General Meeting of the Club Members.
3.2.1 Anyone joining the Club shall do so on the understanding that he or she will conform to the Rules of the Club and at all times accept the decision of the Committee. Any member bringing the Club into disrepute may be suspended or expelled.
3.3
All new memberships must be taken up within 14 days of acceptance of application.
3.4
All Membership Fees must be paid within 14 days of the AGM.
MANAGEMENT
4.1
The affairs of the club shall be under the Management of a Committee consisting of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and honorary President.
4.2
The duties of the Committee shall be:
4.2.1 To control the affairs of the Club on behalf of the Members
4.2.2 To keep accurate accounts of the finances of the Club through the Treasurer. These should be available for reasonable inspection by Members and should be reported on at the Annual General Meeting.
4.2.3 To maintain a bank current account for Club Funds. The President and Treasurer shall be authorised to sign Club cheques.
4.2.4 To make decisions on the basis of a simple majority vote. In the case of equal votes, the President shall be entitled to an additional casting vote.
4.2.5 To reprimand or dismiss any Member found to have acted in a manner detrimental to the Club by a vote of two-thirds majority at a Special General Meeting called for that purpose
4.2.6 To organise all trophies and prizes according to the financial state of the Club
4.3 The participation of individuals, the consumption of alcohol on board charters and all other associated activities on a charter are entirely at the discretion of the Charter Skipper
ELECTION OF COMMITTEE
5.1
The Committee - with the exception of the Honorary President - will retire annually but Members will be eligible for re-election.
5.2
All Committee members - with the exception of the Honorary President - shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Club, from, and by, the Members of the Club.
5.3 In the event of a vacancy arising in the Committee during the year, this shall be filled or left vacant at the discretion of the Committee.
5.4 The responsibility for the election of new Committee Members shall rest with the Committee
ALTERATIONS TO THE CONSTITUTION
6.1
The Rules and regulations of the Club shall not be altered, except by a vote of two-thirds majority at the Annual General Meeting, or at a Special General Meeting called for that purpose.
DISSOLUTION
7.1
In the event of the club being dissolved, and after discharging all debts and liabilities of the Club, the remaining assets will be shared out between all members that are fully paid up at the time of dissolution.
