Club News
Arbroath- Sunday 29th June
The beechwood welcomed 5 guests on this trip:
From the West Coast we were joined by Ken R and Mick P, and from Arbroath Neil B, Bill The Geordie and regular visitor and expert cod filletter, Frank.
The club members present were Helen, Bill, Connor, Martin, George and Ray
It was a bit windy and the fish were not exactly jumping into the boat. Indeed, I reckon we lost more tackle than we caught fish.
Mackies and cod were the order of the day with some of our visitors catching a few 3 and 4 pounders.
The largest specimen by a beechwood member was a three and a half pound cod caught by Connor, which sees him lead the field for the Beechwood trophy.
There are only 6 more official sessions to get YOUR name on the shield (just below where Ray’s is now !!!!!) (who writes this stuff????)
Ray had his first ever duck, but gave the excuse that he was “taking all of the photies”
Based on the quality of the “snaps” that he managed to get perhaps he should stick to fishing, and then he could blame the fish for the crap pictures!!! (Oi!!! I never agreed to this getting published at the editorial meeting !!!!. Ray)
Ken R and Mick P Pose for the camera

Former-ex club president Martin takes instructions from current championship leader Connor. Arbroathian Neil B Holds his nose and asks “who dun it?”

Explorer look-a-like Bill the Geordie

Club Members will no doubt remember the irascible (sic) Frank from Arbroath.

Ninja George reaches for a lifebelt as he realizes he left his fags in the car.

Bill and Helen pose for the camera. Helen shows bill how to pose properly.

Connor’s first REAL monster from the deep. He later caught an even bigger one. He claims that 47 bigger still ones got away!! Aye, Right Connor. It wis only 43, ah wis countin’.

It was suggested that the club meets regularly in the Beechwood for social occasions. These meetings will not primarily concern club matters, but will be a focus for group events, news and an opportunity to allow potential new members to come along and meet some of us. It is hoped that these sessions can be held on a regular basis each month. It is hoped that these can be on the first Thursday of the month. The first of these sessions will be on Thursday 6th March. |
